DetailsThis Antique Swift and Company Jewel Lard Compound Tin from the 1920's is so cool- and would be the perfect gift to the meat lover in your life! We initially picked it due to the fact that the advertising litho was so attractive with its letters in wonderful script within a background of sunshine orange and yellow...after some research, we discovered that the company has a bit of USA business history! The Swift & Company tradition began with Mr. Gustavus Swift at the age of 16 in Cape Cod, Mass- and later evolved through railroad transportation to Chicago (Mr. Swift was instrumental in the transportation of cattle via locomotive). This tin is in wonderful condition considering its age- while there is scratching, some dents and rust to the lid, the litho is in fabulous condition with a wonderful patina. It measures 8.25" x 7.5" diameter. The lid can easily be removed- so it can be used for storage as well as decor. Please message us if you have any questions- Thanks for looking!
