DetailsThis Vintage HEAVY Copper Sauce Pan is gorgeous!! Made in France by Lamalle and then sold in New York City in the 70's!
The New York Times wrote an article about Mr. Lamalle in the 80's; the following is a brief excerpt:
"Mr. Lamalle, who is to French copperware what Tiffany & Company is to diamonds, calls himself an ''apostle of quality'' in cookware as well as all other pursuits in life.
Mr. Lamalle's specialty is triple-gauge copper pots and skillets with thick bronze handles, some of which weigh as much as a young St. Bernard. ''You need weight in a large pan to get the best performance,'' he said. ''It should distribute heat evenly, like water when it hits blotting paper.''
Did we say this pan is HEAVY?1? It has a magnificent handle that is solidly attached by 3 rivets. It measures 8" in diameter x 4.5" tall; the handle extends 8". It holds 8 cups and weighs 5 lbs. 9 oz. There are no dents, but there is wear and oxidation to the interior tin whicg can be seen in our photos.
