DetailsThis Early 19th Century Gate mark Cast Iron Spider Pan would look fantastic next to your hearth! These skillets were common in the 18th and 19th centuries, particularly for cooking in hearths- the three legs resemble spider legs- hence the name. This spider has been VERY loved...It is 9.5" in diameter with a handle that extends 8.5"; it stands 4.5" tall. It has wear that is reflective of its age and use- there is roughness on the interior and exterior of the pan but no cracks or holes- it is a heavy piece of iron with the legs and handle that were hand forged and attached by a skilled craftsman in the early 19th century- it is marked with an early gate mark on the base.
