DetailsThis Gorgeous Native American Micmac Small Square Splint Ash Basket is available to you and would be such a great addition to your Native American collection! The Micmac, a semi nomadic indigenous tribe that lived near the ocean in the summer to fish and the forests (inland) in the winter to hunt, crafted fabulous baskets for trade and use.
This basket has a porcupine diamond weave accented with vegetable red dyed splints. The basket measures 6.5” x 6.5” x 4.25” tall; it has a tight weave with natural dyed faded green splint on the interior and faded red curls on the exterior. There is some minor crushing to the porcupine weave and one corner curl is missing to a top corner (please see our photos). Please message us if you have any questions- Thanks for looking! -
